Wow,

Already 1/9 months is done already. Fastest, craziest, most challenges but most rewarding months of my entire life. I truly cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude I feel right now. I’m surrounded by incredible people 24/7, who not only are some of the funniest and kindest people I’ve ever met, but they also love God. We’ve spent the last months living out of slightly molded tents, having no in between whether were freezing cold or burning alive, using only a total of 11 port-a potties between 100+ people, eating some crazy food, having squad competitions, playing lots of games, sitting in lots of sessions, jamming at worship and revival nights, Wacky Weird Wednesdays (iykyk), Sunday squad church, so many late nights laughing, talking, and just being in such good community. I don’t have the words to explain how incredible this experience has really been so far. Despite the few lows of challenging faith and occasionally being so hungry, we’ve been so blessed as a squad.

On our squad, some people are given certain jobs to have as we go on our 9 month mission. Some of the jobs include: health and safety, hospitality/party planning, , logistics, but I was given the opportunity to have the Storyteller job. Meaning myself, along with two others are in charge of encouraging others to blog and share testimonies, as well as were starting a J squad newsletter, which will feature 3 weekly testimonies, 2 fun stories of the week, and some great photos! Look forward to that coming from all squad mates soon! Besides the news letter, we will be working to keep our J squad instagram updated with fun content so that instagram users are able to keep up with us. FOLLOW J SQUAD INSTAGRAM @WORLDRACE.JSQUAD!!

For the next two weeks, the men of J squad will be in Jackson Kentucky, working with Samaritans Purse. We will be doing flood relief in the town devastated by floods occurring in late July 2022.  With 37 casualties, submerged homes, swept cars away, and heavily damaged roads and other infrastructure, this is considered one of the deadliest floods in recent Kentucky history. We will be working with the local people to help them in the processes of rebuilding their homes, but the before part of the rebuild, aka gutting out houses down to the studs. It will be sad, it will be brutal work, but we are so thankful to be able to help those in need get even a little bit back to normal life.

Thank you to any and everyone who takes the time to read my blogs, continue to check out my instagram and facebook for updates, miss you all dearly!

  3. A storyteller, huh? You will be great. Looking forward to a squad newsletter-I haven’t ever seen one before. You make me want to come and live in a moldy tent and endure freezing cold weather and fiery hot weather. I think it would be worth it to be with you and your squamates and to have such beautiful community. Thanks for sharing, Jackson.
